THE STARTING POINT

The brief

The fictional producer has grown beyond its original packaging. Different suppliers recreate the brand in different colours and proportions, making the range difficult to recognise together.

Our approach

Clarify the brand promise, develop a flexible visual direction and test it on the actual touchpoints. Build guidelines around the decisions suppliers need to make: logo spacing, colour, typography, image treatment and artwork handover.

Who this is designed for

Retail buyers, everyday customers and suppliers preparing branded materials.

Consistency comes from useful rules that people can actually follow.

The key design decision

Design the identity as a working system, not just a logo presentation.

A practical delivery plan

Weeks 1–2 · Define the direction

Review the product range, competitors and existing materials. Agree the brand attributes and compare two distinct visual territories.

Weeks 3–4 · Apply and refine

Develop the chosen identity on sample packaging, a sales sheet and social templates. Review legibility at real sizes and realistic print conditions.

Weeks 5–6 · Prepare production files

Finalise approved artwork, document colour and type specifications, and organise editable source files for handover.

Review, handover and ownership

The proposed handover includes editable working files, a named content or system owner, and a short walkthrough. The team would agree how feedback is collected, which issues block release, and who maintains the work after sign-off. Any additional scope would be discussed before it changes the timeline.

How we would evaluate the work

The acceptance criteria below define what to check during the pilot. They are not performance claims. A live engagement would establish a baseline, confirm access to the right data, and agree a review period before reporting outcomes.
